Why In-Villa Furniture Moving Is a Real Service


It sounds simple — push a sofa across the room — but on Samui, moving furniture without help risks scratched teak floors, damaged pieces, and serious back injury in tropical heat.

Most Samui villas are built with hardwood floors, polished concrete, or natural stone tiles. All three scratch easily. Owners who try to shift heavy furniture themselves — or worse, ask cleaning staff to do it without proper tools — quickly discover gouges in 200,000 baht teak floors. A two-person team with proper sliders and soft straps prevents this. We carry the kit on every visit.

Furniture in tropical villas is often heavier than in temperate climates. Solid teak beds, marble-topped tables, large outdoor day-beds with built-in concrete bases — these pieces are not designed to be moved by one person. Trying it in 32°C heat is how owners and staff get back injuries. Our team works in pairs with proper technique and tropical-weight equipment.

Between guest stays, owners often want subtle layout changes — a different bedroom configuration for a family group, an extra day-bed by the pool, the outdoor dining table moved under the shade. When new items arrive — a replacement headboard, a custom-built coffee table, new outdoor loungers — they typically come in pieces. We assemble (Allen-key flat-pack, simple bolt-on assembly), position, and dispose of the packaging cleanly. What we don't do: full villa relocations with a truck. That's a different scope and requires a different team and insurance. For villa-to-villa moves, larger purchases needing a truck from Tesco/Index/HomePro, or relocations to or from Bangkok, we coordinate with our trusted Samui moving partners and supervise on your behalf, but the truck and crew are theirs, not ours.

    You send us a photo or a brief description of what needs to happen — "move the wardrobe from room 2 to room 4", "unbox the chairs in the garage and place them on the pool deck". We confirm scope, timing, and any tools required.

    Scheduled Visit

    Two-person team arrives at the agreed time, with soft straps, furniture sliders, basic tools, and a tarp for packaging. Visit usually takes 1–2 hours.

    Reset & Photo

    Once positioned, we take a quick photo of the new layout and send it to you for sign-off. Adjustments made on the spot if you want anything tweaked.

  4. 04
    Cleanup & Log

    Packaging removed via our waste service. The change is logged in your villa file so future cleaning staff know the current layout and can reset to it after each guest stay.

Frequently Asked Questions


Do you assemble flat-pack furniture?

Yes, for simple flat-pack and bolt-on pieces (Allen-key style, IKEA-grade complexity). For very complex modular wardrobes or custom-built joinery, we recommend the original supplier's installer — we'll coordinate the visit and supervise.

Can you move furniture between villas?

Yes — but for cross-villa moves involving a truck, we work with our trusted Samui moving partners. We supervise the move on your behalf so you don't need to be on the island, and the bill comes via your owner statement.

What if something gets damaged?

All in-house moves are covered by our liability policy. Damage is rare — we use soft straps and sliders — but if anything happens, you are notified the same day, with photos, and the cost is taken care of through insurance.

Can guests request furniture moves during their stay?

By default no — guest stays have a fixed layout. If an owner or villa concierge requests a one-off change mid-stay (extra bed brought into a room, sofa repositioned for a family), we can arrange it within 24 hours.

Do you remove old furniture I want to get rid of?

Yes. We coordinate with our waste-management service for disposal, or with local resale partners if the item still has value. You sign off on the disposal route before we touch anything.

Is moving included in your standard management fee?

One small move per month is included on the full management plan — a sofa swap, a chair brought into a room, an outdoor cushion rotation. Anything larger is billed separately at the rates above.
